How to use this number
Treat the range as a planning tool for comparing locations against each other, not a guarantee for any one of them. Real results depend on product mix, price fit, and how consistently the machine is stocked.
- Compare two real locations side by side rather than judging one in isolation. The relative difference between two headcount-and-traffic profiles is more reliable than either number alone.
- Be honest about headcount. Use the real on-site number, not a company's total employee count. Remote workers don't buy from a break room machine. See how to evaluate a potential vending location for the full checklist this input comes from.
- Weigh it against any commission being asked. A strong estimate at a location wanting 20% can still lose to a modest estimate at a location wanting nothing. Run the Product Margin Calculator with the commission included before deciding.
